The creation of an accurate Geographical Information System (GIS) system is crucial to many government programs. GIS systems are used to establish the correct locations of know points in order to assist in planning and development. GIS are used to inventory assets such as utilities infrastructure. The locations of these known points are determined after processing survey grade data and/or high accuracy geospatial data, which is collected through the meticulous mapping process.
Through the use of sophisticated software, mapping companies are able to take mapping layers, or survey data, and convert them into GIS coordinates which are then used by government entities for everything from city planning to zoning.
At Cooper Aerial we have taken strides in recent years to hire professionals with GIS experience to help us better serve our clients in both the public and private sectors. The Cooper Aerial GIS Team consists of Gene Brosseau, Phil Gershkovich, Chris Seck and Emily Awbrey, together their knowledge and experience makes Cooper Aerial a leading provider of GIS services.

CooperAerial.com Internet Analytic Statistics
At Cooper Aerial we have recently experienced a great deal of growth within the United States, with our expansion to Philadelphia, as well as a rise in our international online presence. This growth has become particularly evident through our web traffic statistics.
As a company with established roots in the Southwest, it is no surprise that the majority of our web traffic is concentrated in this region, with additional visitors throughout the globe. Since the beginning of 2007 we have received hits to our company site from 132 countries with more than 15,000 unique visits. As one would expect, the countries with the highest concentration of visitors to our site were the United States and the United Kingdom, followed by India, Canada and Mexico. Some of the more surprising areas of concentration were Malaysia, coming in at number 6, Iran at number 19, Saudi Arabia at number 26 and the UAE at number 27. Searchers in the city of Ragoon, Myanmar registered the longest average time on the Cooper Aerial website having found us through aerial survey and technology searches.
It is no surprise that the majority of our unique visitors have found us through such web searches as: Cooper Aerial, aerial survey, aerial mapping and photogrammetry. Some of the more obscure searches that have brought people to our site are: When was the first aerial photograph taken, GPS mapping – roof measurements, Chris Seck, Phil Gershkovich, and What are some uses of cooper?
We are excited and encouraged to find that the world of photogrammetry and geospatial technology has become smaller, as people worldwide are researching companies like ours to learn more about our evolving industry. While web traffic analytics is not a new development, the valuable information that it provides reveals a great deal about the current state of our industry and where it is going. We encourage those of you who are not taking advantage of an analytics tool to do so, tracking your web assets will likely reveal valuable information about not only your website but your clientele.
