Read More News Copper Aerial Recognized for Contributing to the ASPLS 2006 Project of the YearMay 22, 2007Phoenix, Ariz. – Cooper Aerial, a client focused aerial photo and mapping company is proud to be recognized for participating, along with other industry leaders, in the Eloy-Casa Grande Height Modernization Survey, which was recently named ASPLA 2006 Project of the Year.
The project was commissioned in response to the rapid growth the City of Eloy and the surrounding areas have experienced in recent years. The City hired Cooper Aerial along with a few other experts to head the height modernization project. In the end, the project has laid the ground work for all future surveying, mapping and engineering in the area, making it possible to collect and share more accurate data, determine accurate elevations and therefore lower the cost of development in the region.
Along with MHD Associates and Psomas, Cooper Aerial established 14 new survey stations and recovered 31 pre-existing stations. The team strategically positioned and/or recovered each of the 45 survey monuments in specific locales throughout the area. Each monument was then used for survey in late 2006 in order to create the most up-to-date and accurate survey control in Pinal County.

The team was recognized at the 2007 ASPLS Conference in Laughlin, Nevada. Candidates are nominated annually by fellow ASPLS members, award recipient(s) are then chosen by the ASPLS Awards Advisory Committee.
